Ridiculusmus

Venue: Pleasance Dome
Address: 1 Bristo Square
Reviewer: Kim Oliver

Ridiculusmus are renowned for their ability to transcend boundaries and create theatre which redefines the limits of belief. This meditation on British culture is lifted from the dry, cynical realms of smart arse satire, to the heights of esoteric banter by the strength of Ridiculusmus’ artistic ingenuity.

In an hour which ridicules modern culture and it’s obsession with fame in a self- flagellating manner, Ridiculusmus turn every media generated myth on its head. To be sure they do. From the ‘shopping forecast’ to the announcer who kills for fame, the many characters and scenarios created, are carefully constructed and then killed off in a bizarre Big Brother style competition.

This is comedy contrived ‘just for the gratification of pleasing someone’ and it reaches the parts that nine out of ten other acts do not.
